Rescue dogs play at Denny Park

The six filthy dogs rescued from a suspected animal hoarder in Bothell earlier this month - are filthy no more! The happy, healthy animals could care less about the rainy weather. They were more than...more eager to come out to play Friday afternoon at Denny Park. A huge difference from the conditions they were seized from. As you can see, some of the pups were so matted it was hard to tell they're dogs. Since then, the folks at Pasado's Safe Haven in Monroe have been taking good care of them...but now it's time for permanent homes. We're told they're ready to be adopted out!

Kirkland dog Mulligan is just one of five final contestants in CityDog's Cover Dog Model Search. Want to see him on the cover of the magazine? Then go vote! Mulligan's photo was taken this summer at Kirkland Uncorked. He and other model dogs helped raise $500 for Pasado's Safe Haven that day.

Dad, son plead not guilty in dog's shooting death

The father and son accused of shooting the family Rottweiler and leaving it for dead have pleaded not guilty. Terrance Hedin and Travis Hedin maintained their innocence in court, but supporters of Maynard the Rottweiler called for justice.

Six sick dogs who appeared to have come from a puppy mill were dropped off at the Furrytale Farm by a woman who refused to give her name. The dogs are in dire need of surgery and medical treatment totaling $20,000, and someone has stepped up to help.

Man who 'gutted' cat charged with felony

The man accused of brutally stabbing a cat that belongs to a South Seattle church has been charged. Tracy A. Clark has been charged with first-degree animal cruelty for attacking Scat, the resident pet of the Cross Church & Discipleship Center.

Scat, who has been the pet therapy cat at the the Cross Church & Discipleship Center for the past eight to 10 years, was found in the parking lot with stab wounds, including a 7-inch gash on his side, detectives said. The feline also had broken ribs and internal injuries.

Three days ago, Pasado's Safe Haven opened a 600-acre rescue farm an hour outside of New Orleans in St. Bernard Parish for pets to escape the wrath of Hurricane Gustav.
