Want to save a life?  Here's an event that literally might allow you to do that this weekend at the Chinese Baptist Church (5801 Beacon Ave S., Seattle, WA 98108). The folks at Kin On sent along this note: Seattle – In hospitals across the nation, lives are depending on you! The only act separating...more them between life and death is your willingness to donate blood. Seven out of ten individuals will need blood some time in their life.  It could be a friend, a co-worker, a family member or someone you don’t yet know who needs blood – it could even be YOU. No matter who it is, you could be their link to life and well-being. All we ask is your willingness, a little of your time and your blood which could ultimately save a life! To increase the Asian and Pacific Islander blood donor pool and make sure that all patients can receive the blood they need, the Kin On Community Health Care and the Puget Sound Blood Center began organizing semi-annual blood drives since 2001 as a tribute to Kirby

After renaming Taejon Park Daejeon Park last spring, the Seattle Department of Parks and Rec added a couple of new signs. Earlier this week I saw a work crew at the north end of the park, but couldn't figure out what they were doing. This morning while walking our dog Sadie I realized the crew must...more have installed the new sign pictured above. The sign is nice, but I'm curious why a second sign was installed at Daejeon Park and the sign missing from the Equality sculpture at Sturgus Park remains missing?
